{"id":1282,"date":"2011-03-28T13:41:44","date_gmt":"2011-03-28T19:41:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/?p=1282"},"modified":"2011-03-28T13:41:44","modified_gmt":"2011-03-28T19:41:44","slug":"tucson-spring-trip-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/?p=1282","title":{"rendered":"Tucson Spring Trip, Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After eating a breakfast prepared by Steev but included Greta&#8217;s fabulous scones,\u00a0 we packed up the car and headed to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bisbeearizona.com\" target=\"_blank\">Bisbee<\/a>.\u00a0 On the way, we stopped at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityoftombstone.com\" target=\"_blank\">Tombstone<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Tumbstone1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-1283\" style=\"margin: 4px;\" title=\"Click to Enlarge\" src=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Tumbstone1-150x100.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>which is an old mining camp that has\u00a0 preserved many of the original 1880&#8217;s buildings .\u00a0 It definitely had tourist overload; we lasted for about 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>We arrived in Bisbee\u00a0 in time for lunch.\u00a0 We walked around Bisbee with Greta&#8217;s good friend, Peter, an artist who has been a resident of the town for over 37 years; he served as tour guide and gave us much insight as to the history of the town\/area.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Bisbee1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1285\" style=\"margin: 4px;\" title=\"Click to Enlarge\" src=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Bisbee1-150x100.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a> Peter also provided <a href=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Bisbee2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1286 alignright\" style=\"margin: 4px;\" title=\"Click to Enlarge\" src=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Bisbee2-150x100.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>a tour of the local radio station where he has a program every week. <a href=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Bisbee3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1287\" style=\"margin: 4px;\" title=\"Click to Enlarge\" src=\"https:\/\/tom.hise.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Bisbee3-150x100.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>Tom and I stayed at the historic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.copperqueen.com\" target=\"_blank\">Copper Queen Hotel<\/a> where our room has been known to be visited by the ghost of a young boy who drowned in the San Pedro River; it&#8217;s believed that his spirit found its way to the hotel because a relative was employed there at the time.\u00a0 After we settled in, we met up with everyone and went to the<a href=\"http:\/\/screamingbansheepizza.com\" target=\"_blank\"> Screaming Banshee<\/a> for pizza .\u00a0 This was an old gas station that was turned into a very successful pizza business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After eating a breakfast prepared by Steev but included Greta&#8217;s fabulous scones,\u00a0 we packed up the car and headed to Bisbee.\u00a0 On the way, we stopped at Tombstone which is an old mining camp that has\u00a0 preserved many of the original 1880&#8217;s buildings .\u00a0 It definitely had tourist overload; we lasted for about 40 minutes.
